National Women Support Women Day

December 1st marks #NationalWomenSupportWomenDay! According to the Office on Women’s Health, more than 1 in 5 American women have experienced a struggle with their mental health in the past year. Depression and anxiety are more prevalent in women, and certain mental disorders impact only women, such as postpartum depression.

Women Support Women Day was created to let women know that they are not alone even though it may feel like it. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness, provide education and destigmatize seeking help when needed. Women from all walks of life go through similar trials, and today is a day to recognize our unique journeys and struggles, and learn more about how we can support ourselves and others.

This day is a perfect opportunity to lift the women around you and check in on their mental health. From sending a bouquet, catching up with a friend over dinner or coffee, to a simple check-in text, it’s important to make time for yourself and others. Take the time today to reflect on the women in your life and how they have made a positive impact on your growth!
