Mayor Giles and Councilwoman Spilsbury join MIND 24-7 Founders to “Cut the Ribbon” at Mesa Facility

Mesa Mayor John Giles and Councilwoman Julie Spilsbury helped the MIND 24-7 founders cut the ceremonial ribbon at our second Phoenix-area walk-in urgent mental health facility in front of a packed house of community leaders.

This 1138 South Higley Road location is currently accepting youth and adult patients, and like all MIND 24-7 locations, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, addressing the community’s urgent need for walk-in access to mental health care. With the ability to serve up to 110 patients at a time at this new location, the company has hired over 150 additional behavioral health medical providers and operational staff members. The location will provide express (urgent care) and crisis (emergency care) services for both youth and adults, in addition to a progressions (short-term intensive outpatient) care program.

Mesa Mayor John Giles

John Giles was elected Mayor of Mesa, Arizona in 2014 and began his second full term in January 2021. Born and raised in Mesa, Mayor Giles earned degrees from Brigham Young University in Political Science and Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law where he is now an Adjunct Professor. He has managed his own law firm in downtown Mesa for more than 25 years. Mayor Giles is a marathoner and triathlete who has completed two full Ironman competitions, 20 marathons and four Boston Marathons. Mayor Giles and his wife Dawn have been married for more than 35 years. They have five children and eight grandchildren.

Mesa Councilwoman Julie Spilsbury

Elected to the Mesa City Council in August of 2020, Councilmember Julie Spilsbury began her first term representing District 2 in January of 2021. Her term on the Council runs until January of 2025. A product of Mesa Public Schools (MPS) for her entire education, Spilsbury has been active for more than 18 years in local schools, earning an award from MPS for her volunteer work. Both of her parents were teachers, instilling in her a drive to support those who lead our children. Julie and her husband Jeremy ran a small tree care company for more than 20 years. They have lived in District 2 for almost their entire 24 years of marriage and have six children, five girls, and one boy. She attended Brigham Young University.

MIND 24-7 CEO & Founder Jeff Spight

Jeff Spight is the Chief Executive of Officer of MIND 24-7. Prior, he was recently the President of ACO Market Operations for Wellcare/Universal American and was responsible for their 35+ ACOs participating in the Medicare Shared Savings Program and the Next Generation ACO models. He has over 20 years of experience in healthcare including serving in leadership roles at health plans such as AmeriHealth Mercy, Bravo/Healthspring, and WellCare.

In the past, Mr. Spight was part of the executive team with McKinsey & Company’s Leading Systems Network and McKinsey’s Advanced Healthcare Analytics groups where he worked with international health systems in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Australia. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board for Troy Medicare and previously served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Accountable Care Organizations. Mr. Spight has an MBA from Stanford University and a BA in Economics and Mathematics from Colorado College.
